Established in 2005 by Mrs. Shahnaz Quadri, the Makhdum Zaadgan Family Fund (MZFF) has been instrumental in helping to alleviate the financial burden of those family members unable to support themselves. This organization was created because, while there may be many among us who are struggling in their daily lives, acquiring zakat is a difficult and somewhat embarrassing prospect.
Funds for the MZFF are collected solely from within the family and, consequently, distributed solely within the family.
Thus far, the MZFF has a roster of recipients who receive a monthly stipend, including several youngsters whose education is paid for by the MZFF. The amounts distributed vary, depending upon need, though the MZFF Board of Directors meets regularly to evaluate that need. MZFF also provides long-term Qarz-e-Hasna loans to family members, particularly to students, or to family members who are unable to find employment.
Names of all recipients, including those who have received Qarz-e-Hasna, are kept anonymous.
The Fund’s accounts are audited annually by Mr. Abdul Hai Fareedi.
Please refer to the constitution to learn more about the MZFF.
